Don’t Stop at the Top!!!!

We are nearing the finish line for the 2024 election cycle. The turnout for early advance voting and vote by mail has been very robust, breaking records, especially for Republican voters!!!

Great Job!!!

However, under votes for down ballot candidates is a problem.  PLEASE spread the word: Don’t STOP AT THE TOP, Vote to the bottom of the ballot.   

“An “under vote” occurs when a voter skips one or more races on the ballot. This means  a choice is not made for certain offices or issues, even though the voter participated in other parts of the election.”

Some voters don’t think they know enough about local candidates so they skip over those races.  Or they believe down ballot candidates aren’t important. WRONG!! 

Decisions made by those at the BOTTOM of the ballot have the most direct impact on YOU!!!  Local elected officials, they are who raise YOUR property taxes. 

AND in these local elections, the margin of victory has been as narrow as 1 VOTE!!! Your vote – or lack thereof – can determine the outcome of races that shape policies right HERE in your backyard.

Spread the Word – ENCOURAGE Your Friends to research local candidates and ENCOURAGE them to Vote to the BOTTOM of the ballot!

There was an error in Tuesday’s column.  Commissioner Hanzlick was not in attendance at the Gardner Drag Queen Show on June 23rd.  However she was pictured with Chairman Kelly in promo for the event.
